Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Plynr Pty Ltd (“Plynr”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and protect personal information when you use the Plynr mobile application, our website, and related products and services (together, the “Services”).

Plynr is a social planning platform that helps people organise plans, coordinate availability, invite friends, communicate about plans, manage calendars and keep memories from the things they do together.

1. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Plynr and the permissions you choose to give us.

Account and profile information

When you create or use a Plynr account, we may collect information such as your:

  • name;

  • email address;

  • mobile phone number;

  • username or handle;

  • profile photo;

  • authentication information and account identifiers; and

  • account preferences and settings.

If you sign in using a third-party sign-in provider, such as Apple or Google, we may receive information that you authorise that provider to share with us, such as your name, email address and account identifier.

Contacts and invitation information

If you choose to give Plynr access to your contacts, we may access information such as names, phone numbers and email addresses for purposes including helping you find people you know, add friends and invite people to plans.

You may also provide information about other people directly, for example when inviting someone by phone number or email address, adding a guest or +1, or creating a plan involving another person.

We only use contact information for purposes connected with providing and improving the relevant Plynr features and do not sell contact information.

Plans, events and social content

We collect information you create, submit, send, upload or interact with through Plynr. This may include:

  • Plyn titles and descriptions;

  • dates and times;

  • locations;

  • guest lists and invitations;

  • RSVPs and attendance information;

  • polls and poll responses;

  • scheduling preferences and availability;

  • answers to questions created by hosts;

  • messages and chats;

  • comments and reactions;

  • reminders and notifications;

  • photographs and other memories;

  • information about recurring plans; and

  • other content you choose to provide.

Some of this information may contain personal information about you or other people.

Calendar and connected-service information

If you choose to connect a calendar or other third-party service to Plynr, we may access and process information authorised by you and necessary to provide the relevant integration.

Depending on the integration and permissions you select, this may include:

  • your connected account identifier;

  • calendars you choose to connect;

  • calendar availability or free/busy information;

  • event information needed to identify scheduling conflicts;

  • information required to create or sync Plynr events with a connected calendar; and

  • authorisation tokens required to maintain the connection.

Plynr uses calendar information to provide features such as checking availability, helping users coordinate dates and syncing Plynr plans with connected calendars.

We do not sell calendar data or use Google Workspace user data for personalised advertising, advertising profiles or training general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

You can disconnect a calendar integration through Plynr or through the relevant third-party provider, where supported.

2. Google API data

Where Plynr accesses information through Google APIs, our use of that information is limited to providing and improving the user-facing Plynr features for which access was granted.

Plynr's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for personalised or interest-based advertising, or use Google Workspace user data to train or improve general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Access by Plynr personnel to Google user data is limited to circumstances where it is reasonably necessary to provide user-requested support with appropriate permission, protect the security or integrity of the Services, comply with applicable law, or otherwise as permitted by Google's applicable policies.

3. Photos and media

If you choose to upload photos or other media to Plynr, we collect and store the content you select.

We do not access your full photo library simply because you use Plynr. Access depends on the permissions you grant through your device.

Photos and memories may be visible to other people according to the sharing settings and functionality associated with the relevant Plyn or account.

4. Device, technical and usage information

When you access Plynr, we may automatically collect technical information such as:

  • IP address;

  • device and operating-system information;

  • browser type;

  • app version;

  • device or installation identifiers;

  • push-notification tokens;

  • diagnostic and crash information;

  • security logs;

  • dates and times of access; and

  • information about how features of the Services are used.

We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, understand and improve Plynr.

5. Website and waitlist information

If you join the Plynr waitlist, contact us or submit information through our website, we may collect your name, email address and any information you choose to provide.

We may use this information to administer the waitlist, respond to you and, where permitted, send Plynr product, launch and service updates.

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in the communication or by contacting us.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, protect the website and understand how it is used.

Where applicable law requires us to obtain your consent for a particular activity, we will request that consent.

8. How information is shared

With other Plynr users

Plynr is designed to help people plan things together. Information you choose to share may therefore be visible to other users involved in a Plyn, conversation, shared calendar or other social feature.

For example, a host may be able to see your RSVP or poll response, and members of a Plyn may be able to see content posted within that Plyn.

The information visible to other users depends on the feature and your applicable settings.

With service providers

We may disclose information to trusted companies that help us operate Plynr, such as providers of:

  • cloud hosting and databases;

  • authentication;

  • email, SMS and push notifications;

  • analytics and crash reporting;

  • security and fraud prevention;

  • customer support; and

  • software infrastructure.

We require service providers to handle information only for appropriate purposes and subject to appropriate privacy and security obligations.

With connected services

If you connect Plynr with a third-party calendar, login provider or other service, we may exchange information with that provider as necessary to perform the action you requested.

Your use of the third-party service is also governed by that provider's own privacy practices and terms.

For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or a lawful request, protect the rights and safety of Plynr, our users or others, investigate fraud or abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.

Business changes

If Plynr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring or sale of all or part of its business or assets, personal information may be disclosed as part of that transaction subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

9. We do not sell personal information

Plynr does not sell personal information, contact information or connected calendar data to data brokers or advertisers.

If our business model or data practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and obtain additional consent where required by law.

10. Permissions and choices

Certain Plynr features may request access to information or capabilities controlled by your device, including contacts, calendars, photos and notifications.

You can choose whether to grant many of these permissions and can generally change your permissions later through your device settings or the relevant connected service.

Declining a permission may mean that a feature requiring that permission cannot operate.

11. Data security

We take reasonable technical, organisational and administrative measures designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

These measures may include access controls, secure authentication, encryption in transit, monitoring and appropriate safeguards used by our infrastructure providers.

No online service or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and satisfy legitimate security, legal, accounting and operational requirements.

If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account within a reasonable period, except where we need or are permitted to retain particular information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution or other legitimate purposes.

Information may remain temporarily in secure backups before those backups are overwritten in accordance with our normal retention processes.

Content you shared with other users may in some circumstances continue to be visible where it forms part of another person's account, Plyn, message history or record, subject to applicable law and the functionality of the Services.

13. Deleting your account and withdrawing consent

You may request deletion of your Plynr account and associated personal information through the account-deletion functionality provided within the app or by contacting us.

You may also revoke access to connected accounts or permissions at any time through Plynr, your device settings or the relevant third-party provider.

Revoking a permission will prevent future access where technically applicable but may not automatically delete information previously provided to Plynr. You can request deletion separately.

14. Accessing or correcting your information

You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

Some information can be viewed or updated directly within Plynr.

For other requests, contact us using the details at the end of this Privacy Policy. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Depending on applicable law, there may be circumstances in which we are permitted or required to refuse a request. Where required, we will explain the reason.

15. International users and overseas processing

Plynr is based in Australia, but some of the service providers we use may process or store information outside Australia.

Overseas recipients are likely to include service providers located in the United States, and may include other countries in which our cloud, communications, analytics or technology providers operate.

We take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances to protect personal information when it is disclosed or processed overseas.

If you live in a jurisdiction that gives you additional privacy rights, including certain rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent, you may contact us to exercise those rights where they apply.

16. Children

Plynr is not designed or directed primarily to children.

Users must satisfy the minimum-age requirements contained in our Terms of Use and any additional requirements that apply in their country.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child in circumstances where the collection is not permitted, we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.

17. Other people's information

When you provide information about another person through Plynr, such as by inviting them to a plan, adding a guest, syncing contacts or uploading a photograph containing another person, you should only do so where you have an appropriate basis to provide and use that information.

Please respect the privacy of other people when using Plynr.

18. Third-party websites and services

Plynr may contain links to third-party websites, venues, booking platforms or other services.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Plynr evolves or where our legal or regulatory obligations change.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.

Where a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Services or by another appropriate method.

20. Privacy questions and complaints

We will consider privacy complaints and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
